The Wild Next Door
Deer, swans, raccoons and owls share the places we call home. We are students supporting the people who protect New York’s native wildlife, close to our towns, cities and suburbs.
Our mission
To protect New York’s native wildlife and ecosystems by supporting the organisations that care for injured and displaced animals, and by bringing young people and families into that work through education, fundraising and volunteering.
What we do
Educate
Eco Walks on local trails, school events and posts that show families the animals sharing their park.
Fund
One rescue centre at a time, one donation page, one focused month. Food, medicine, bedding and the cost of getting an animal back to the wild.
Advocate
We point people to the petitions, hearings and local groups deciding what happens to the habitats these animals depend on.
What's happening
One month for the wild next door.
From October 17 to November 14 everything we do raises money and supplies for wildlife rescue and education in New York.
